Jacquelyn is an interdisciplinary artist whose work stems from an interest in historical, cultural and imagined narratives. In addition to a BFA with a Film, Video + Integrated Media Major from Emily Carr University, she holds a BA with an Anthropology Major from the University of Manitoba. Her recent artistic focus deals with the complexity of Canadian identity. In 2011, she was awarded a J.A. Bombardier Canada Graduate Scholarship from the Social Science and Humanities' Research Council (SSHRC) of Canada in support of her research-creation project Francophone-hybride. Jacquelyn’s main artistic focus is installation and experimental documentary. She is interested in examining the spaces between our cultural expectations and the reality of lived experience. In her work, she also explores how digital media can intersect with the handmade, found or obsolete.
Jacquelyn has presented her work both nationally and internationally, most recently at La maison des artistes visuels
in Winnipeg, the FOFA Gallery in Montreal, the 8fest in Toronto and L'Acropolis de Nice in Nice, France. In 2014, she completed a Master of Fine Arts at Concordia University in Montreal and she now lives and works in Toronto. Jacquelyn has worked in arts administration and arts education since 2005, holding positions with the Emily Carr University Writing Centre, the Manitoba Arts Council, The Winnipeg Film Group, and Concordia’s Department of Fine Arts to name a few. She is currently the Community Manager for VUCAVU.com, a digital platform for independent Canadian film and video.

Jacquelyn est une artiste multidisciplinaire dont l’œuvre émane d’un intérêt pour les récits historiques, culturels et imaginaires. Elle détient un baccalauréat en beaux-arts avec majeure en cinéma, vidéo et médias intégrés de l’Université Emily Carr, ainsi qu’un baccalauréat avec majeure en anthropologie de l’Université du Manitoba. Sa pratique artistique récente traite de la complexité de l’identité canadienne. En 2011, on lui a octroyé une bourse d’études supérieures du Canada Joseph-Armand-Bombardier du Conseil de recherche en sciences humaines (CRSH) pour financer son projet de recherche-création intitulé Francophone-hybride. L’œuvre de Jacquelyn touche principalement à l’installation et au documentaire expérimental et explore les différences entre nos attentes culturelles et la réalité de l’expérience humaine. Son travail lui permet également d’observer l’incidence des médias numériques sur le fait à la main, le trouvé ou l’obsolète.
Jacquelyn a diffusé ses œuvres à l’échelle nationale et internationale, plus récemment à La Maison des artistes visuels
de Winnipeg, à la Galerie FOFA de Montréal, à the 8fest de Toronto et à L'Acropolis de Nice, en France. En 2014, elle a terminé une maîtrise en beaux-arts à l’Université Concordia de Montréal. Elle réside et travaille désormais à Toronto. Depuis 2005, Jacquelyn a œuvré en administration et éducation artistiques, dans des postes au sein du centre de rédaction de l’Université Emily Carr, du Conseil des arts du Manitoba, du Winnipeg Film Group, et de la faculté des beaux-arts de l’Université Concordia, pour ne nommer que ceux-là. Elle est présentement la gestionnaire de communauté pour VUCAVU.com, une plate-forme de distribution numérique.
